SKECHERS Supports Voyage of Mike Perham, the World's Youngest Solo Sailing Circumnavigator 2009-10-12 August, 27th, 2009, Portsmouth, UK--17-year-old British sailor Mike Perham was honored as world's youngest solo sailing circumnavigator after a nine-month voyage back to Portsmouth on August, 29th. Mike Perham battled gales and waves in this 30,000-mile voyage which took him via Portugal, the Canaries, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, etc. Mike also succeeded in crossing the equator and every line of longitude, and set off aiming to complete the challenge non-stop.
