Tan Holdings acquires D&Q 2007-10-01 Saipan -- Tan Holdings announced yesterday its acquisition of Dickerson & Quinn LLC, a leading distributor of food and consumer products in Guam, Saipan and Micronesia, effective Oct. 1, 2007.
For the past 35 years, Tan Holdings has been actively involved in numerous industries that are vital to the economies of the Western Pacific. This includes aviation, fishing, entertainment, hotels and travel, airport ground handling services, insurance, logistic services, real estate and publication.
“We have a philosophy of making continuous improvements in our businesses and look forward to working with the management and employees of D&Q on the company's mission to become the premier food and consumer products distributor in the Western Pacific,” said Tan Holdings president Jerry Tan.
To further ensure the growth of the new Dickerson & Quinn, the current management and its staff of dedicated employees who have contributed to the success of the company will continue with their respective responsibilities under the new ownership, according to Tan.
Dickerson & Quinn LLC was founded in 1985 by owners Donald Dickerson and Robert Quinn. “We want to express our sincerest appreciation to our dedicated employees in both Guam and Saipan for their outstanding contributions in making us the leading distribution and marketing company of food and consumer products in the region. We also want to express our gratitude to our loyal customers and to the consumers for their support over the years.”
The new Dickerson & Quinn will be under the leadership of vice president and general manager Tim Kernaghan, who for 19 years had overseen the growth and expansion of the Guam operations from a medium scale wholesaling business to a brand management-oriented distributing company. D&Q's management and operations will continue to be as is, separate and distinct from any of Tan Holdings' current investments.
“We are excited about becoming a part of Tan Holdings and the opportunities that lie ahead with this new investment,” said Kernaghan. “We ask for our customers continued support of the new company and to join us in fulfilling our desire to take Dickerson & Quinn to an even higher level as a leading supplier of top quality brand food products in the Western Pacific.”
With the acquisition of Dickerson & Quinn LLC, Tan Holdings will exclusively represent many of Fortune 500 food companies, such as Procter & Gamble, Hormel, Real Fresh Milk, Best Foods, Kellogg's, International Smokeless Tobacco Inc., Nabisco, Campbell's, Gallo Wines, Tree Top, Reynolds and Connors Bros. Seafood.
