SKECHERS Wins 2008 PLUS Award for Design Excellence 2009-02-04 Retailers all over the United States voted SKECHERS the winner of the 2008 Plus Award for Company of the Year for Design Excellence. This award marks the third time in four years that SKECHERS has claimed the top prize in the Plus Awards for Design Excellence.
“The Plus Awards are a celebration of the footwear industry's talent, creativity and incredible hard work," Footwear Plus Publisher Caroline Diaco said in an interview "Please join us in tipping our hat to all the winners and embrace some 'good news' for a change."
Winners reflect the breadth of the industry, stretching from "Luxury Comfort" to "Athletic Lifestyle.
This award comes on the heel of consecutive various recognitions for SKECHERS including the 2007 SGI’s #1 international lifestyle footwear brand. SKECHERS was one of the only other billion dollar company to have grown steadily in overall sales for the US market last year. The other was Nike.
For the 2008 Plus Award for Company of the Year for Design Excellence, SKECHERS beat all other contending brands; Deckers Outdoor, Camuto Group, Nike, and Brown Shoe.
