In his keynote speech, Aquino personally thanked and commended Mr. Willie Tan, Luen Thai’s CEO, for continually bringing good news to the country. “Obviously before we spend some money we have to earn the money, and it is through efforts of people like Mr. Willie Tan who, I really am very glad that I met just barely two years ago, has already contributed so much to our country. He has so much commitment to the Filipino people,” the President said.
Luen Thai Group is planning to increase Tarlac factory workforce by 500 this March, and by 2014, targeted to employ 5,000 workers. But even on its first nine months of business, the factory is already producing 90,000 to 100,000 pieces of bags per month.
Aside from D’ Luxe Bags Philippines, Luen Thai Group is also operating the Adidas factory in Mactan, Cebu, and is setting up the Ralph Lauren factory in Clark Freeport, Pampanga. It is also planning to engage in the tourism sector.
